The Central Bank Gift Card is a non-reloadable prepaid debit card. Gift cards can be purchased as gifts or for individual use and can be used anywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted. The cards cannot be used at ATMs to withdraw cash or be used for cash advances or cash back at any location. This card is not a Credit Card.
It is important to register your card in case it is lost or stolen or if you want to use your card in a transaction that may require address verification.
Registering the card is easy; call Customer Service at 1-866-510-2974 and select the “Speak to a Live Agent” option and a customer service agent will assist you.
Registering your card allows customer service to locate your card account and send a replacement card to you in the event that your card is lost or stolen. If a replacement card is requested prior to the expiration date on the card, there is a $15.00 per card replacement fee.
Your card available balance can be verified by visiting www.thecardcenter.com, or by calling Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-510-2974. Be sure to have your 16-digit card account number ready to access this information.
When logging into www.thecardcenter.com the temporary password is the last four digits of the 16 digit card number found on the front of the Gift Card.
Yes, you can use the card anywhere MasterCard debit cards are accepted in stores and online. However, some online merchants may require address verification. This process requires that the billing address be linked or assigned to the 16 digit card number. In addition, the shipping address of your online purchase must match the registered card address.
Linking your address to the card can be done by calling Customer Service at 1-866-510-2974 to register the card. Once the card is registered, any merchant requiring address verification will be able to link a billing address to the card account (16 digit card number).
If your card is lost or stolen call 1-866-510-2974 to: • Request a replacement card - there is a $15.00 replacement fee per card. • Request a check to be mailed to you for the current balance on the card.
To ensure that we can identify the lost or stolen card, the card should be registered by calling Customer Service at 1-866-510-2974. Choose the “Speak to a Live Agent” option and a customer service agent will assist you.
You may use your card at restaurants that accept MasterCard debit cards. Keep in mind, for authorization purposes only, up to 20% gratuity is automatically added to your food bill. In addition, some restaurants have preprogrammed their own card terminals to authorize a gratuity. Both additions are for authorization purposes only and you will only be charged for the gratuity you designate on the receipt.
Your card can be used at any gas station where MasterCard debit cards are accepted. A hold of up to $125.00 may be put on your card to ensure funds are available for fueling. If your card does not have enough money to pay for this amount, it will be declined by the pay at the pump card terminal. You can avoid the hold on your funds by paying for your purchase inside at the register.
To make a purchase that is more than the available balance on your card, you may use another payment method to share the expense of your purchase. This is called a split transaction. Simply use your card to pay for a portion of the purchase amount and a second payment method-check, cash or credit card-for the remainder.
Please note that split transactions are subject to individual merchant policies. When making your purchase, remember to tell the merchant the dollar value on your card. You can easily verify your remaining balance via the cardholder web site, www.thecardcenter.com or by calling Customer Service toll-free at 1-866-510-2974. The merchant will not be able to provide you with this information. If you attempt to make a transaction for more than the balance on your card, the transaction will be declined.
Your card’s “Valid Thru” date is shown on the front of the card. It will expire no sooner than five years from the date of purchase. In addition, a Monthly Maintenance Fee of $4.95 will be applied following twelve months of card inactivity to maintain that balance.
Purchase Fee- $4.00 This is a one-time initial fee that must be paid by the purchaser at the time of purchase.
Maintenance Fee – $4.95 This is a fee that will be deducted from your card balance monthly after each 12-month period of inactivity or non-use of your card. An imposition of a fee or an adjustment due to an error or reversal for a prior transaction does not constitute activity. The maintenance fee may diminish the balance of your card before the "valid thru" date on the front of the card. You can avoid this fee by using your card at least once every twelve months.
Card Replacement Fee – $15.00 This is a fee that will be deducted from your card balance if you request a replacement card prior to the expiration date of your card; in order to receive a replacement card, the card must have been registered, to register the card contact customer service at 1-866-510-2974.
Printed Statement Fee - $5.00 There is no fee applied when printing your statement via the cardholder website. A $5.00 fee will be applied each time we mail a printed statement that you request by calling Customer Service.
Currency Conversion Assessment - 20 basis points (0.2%) This a fee in any amount of any transaction in a currency other than US Dollars MasterCard will assess a charge each time you use your Card for a transaction in a currency other than US Dollars.
Cross-Border Transaction Fee - 80 basis points (0.8%) This is a fee in any amount of any transaction with a merchant outside of the US MasterCard will assess a fee each time you use your Card for a transaction with a merchant outside of the US.
